Some online behaviours students deem to be acceptable and funny can be harmful and have a negative impact. Students are likely to engage in behaviour online without realising its unintentional consequences. Educating students on the unintended harm that can occur will help them to make considered choices when deciding to engage in these popular online behaviours.

  2. Ask students to imagine they are the author of this article.

  3. Ask students to write, in the same format as the article, a fifth ‘thing’ everyone needs to stop doing online.
