Activity 1
Introduction
5 minutes
Explain to students:
Juggling work and life can be difficult, especially if you are just entering the workforce.
Work is often inconsistent, so it requires careful planning and organisation.
There are lots of different ways to manage the work/life balance.
Activity 2
Group activity
45 minutes
Write the following tips on butcher’s paper and place around the room:
Get organised
Practise self-care
Manage your time
Stay connected
Accept uncertainty
Get expert advice
In small groups, students rotate around the room writing their ideas for each heading. They may like to research or suggest ideas and strategies they already use. Prompting questions:
Why are these tips important when doing casual work?
What are some strategies that could be used for each tip? (Examples: Apps to get organised, social media to stay connected.)
Activity 3
